Mains and Kessels Road Intersection
Delivering $300 million fix for Kessels and Mains intersection
At the 2007 election I received strong support for my $300 million plan to upgrade the Kessels and Mains intersection. Since being elected I have been determined to see this vital project delivered for southside motorists.
The new intersection will take Kessels Road under Mains Road improving traffic flow on both roads in both directions and solve the traffic bottleneck at Queensland’s second busiest intersection.
I know all of us who use this intersection regularly are anxious for the upgrade to be completed but it hasn’t always been easy. In fact, Tony Abbott and the LNP have opposed this project every step of the way. But the Gillard Labor Government will fix this traffic bottleneck once and for all.
We are just about to hit the halfway mark for construction. We need to stay the course and deliver this upgrade. I for one have no intention of condemning the southside to more years of traffic gridlock. Don’t let the LNP delay this any longer.
