LNP candidate wants to take Moreton back to the bad old days
Liberal National Party candidate for Moreton Malcolm Cole needs to come clean on his plans for the southside, Member for Moreton Graham Perrett said today.
"I am disappointed Mr Cole is working with Tony Abbott to reintroduce WorkChoices, abolish Trades Training Centres and scrap the $300 million Kessels and Mains Road intersection upgrade," he said.
"As a former senior advisor in the Howard Government, Mr Cole has to take some responsibility for WorkChoices and that government's failure to act on climate change.
"And does Mr Cole support Mr Abbott's plan to cut funding to the school building program and cancel trades training centres?
"If so, he needs to look southside teachers, parents and students in the eye and tell them why he wants to slash funding to our schools on Brisbane's southside.
"The simple truth is that Mr Abbott and the Opposition voted against every single dollar of this funding going to schools.
"The people of Moreton deserve to know if Mr Abbott and Mr Cole will cut funding from their school."
Mr Perrett said the Liberal National Party had also campaigned hard against the $300 million upgrade to the Kessels and Mains Roads intersection upgrade.
"I have worked very hard to secure $300 million to fix this intersection," he said.
"The last thing southsiders want is to see this plan go back to the drawing board.
"Southside motorists want to know whether Mr Cole support's the LNP opposition to this vital congestion-busting project."
